    Dr. Jennifer Michaud, DVM

    Dr. Jen has been passionate about animals from a young age, with a dream of becoming a veterinarian that has guided her throughout her life. Raised in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, Dr. Jen is proud to be bilingual and to serve the community she calls home.

    She completed her high school education at Pointes-des-Chênes before attending the University of Manitoba, where she completed the prerequisite courses necessary to pursue her veterinary education.

    In 2020, Dr. Jen graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in Saskatoon. Before entering veterinary school, Dr. Jen gained invaluable hands-on experience working at a kennel as well as a vet hospital for many years. These experiences helped hone her skills and deepen her knowledge of animal care.

    Since graduating, Dr. Jen has been practicing at a veterinary hospital in Winnipeg, where she has continued to refine her expertise in providing compassionate, high-quality care. Driven by a deep love for animals and a desire to contribute to the health and well-being of pets in her community, she is now thrilled to open her own veterinary practice in Ste. Anne in February 2026.

    Dr. Jen believes in providing personalized and compassionate care to all pets, and she is committed to ensuring that every animal feels comfortable and cared for during their visit. Her new clinic is a reflection of her dedication to filling the gap for veterinary services in the area, while offering a warm and welcoming environment for all pet owners.

    Outside of veterinary care, Dr. Jen enjoys spending her free time travelling and exploring. Whether it’s hiking, scuba diving, or simply enjoying nature, she finds peace and inspiration in the beauty of the world around her.

    Stefan Neufeld

    Stefan Neufeld is a true “jack of all trades” and the handyman behind the renovations at Dr. Jen’s new veterinary hospital. With a wide-ranging skill set, Stefan is a mechanic by trade who enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and “treating” vehicles, much like his wife, Dr. Jen, does with animals. He finds humor in comparing their work, with both of them taking pride in solving problems and getting things back in working order—whether it’s a car or a pet!

    Stefan is known for his outgoing personality and is considered a social butterfly, always ready for a good conversation. His ability to connect with people is one of his many strengths, and he truly enjoys spending time with family and friends. In addition to his work and social nature, Stefan has a strong sense of adventure. He holds a private pilot’s license and owns a small plane, which he occasionally takes Dr. Jen and their two dogs on scenic flights. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of flying, and Stefan loves sharing this experience with his loved ones.

    When he’s not flying, Stefan enjoys scuba diving and tinkering with various projects in his free time. His love for fixing things, whether it’s mechanical or just finding a new project to dive into, keeps him busy and constantly learning. His diverse range of interests, skills, and talents makes him an integral part of the team behind the hospital’s creation.

    Shaelynn

    Shaelynn graduated from Red River College in 2018 with her diploma in Veterinary Technology. She began her career in a mixed animal practice, building a strong foundation in both small and large animal medicine before moving into companion animal practice.

    With a strong passion for surgery and anesthesia, Shaelynn took a year-long leave to work alongside a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, gaining advanced experience as an orthopedic surgical assistant. She has a special interest in anesthesia, phlebotomy, and orthopedic procedures, and takes great pride in providing attentive, high-quality patient care.

    Having grown up in the community, Shaelynn is excited to return to her hometown and build lasting relationships with both clients and their pets.

    When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll find her at the gym, walking her dog Macie, or barrel racing with her horse Price. She also enjoys reading, specialty coffee, and spending time outdoors or with friends and family.

    Alyssa

    Alyssa has been working as a veterinary assistant for three years in a small animal clinic,
    where she has discovered a deep love for hands-on patient care and supporting both pets
    and their people. She enjoys being a part of every step of a patient’s visit, from helping them
    feel comfortable during exams, to assisting with treatments and procedures.
    She has developed a special interest in surgical support, client education, and internal
    medicine, and plans on furthering her education by becoming a Veterinary Technician.
    Alyssa has had the opportunity to work in two clinics before joining Ste Anne Veterinary
    Hospital. One of those was a three month venture to British Columbia where she worked in a
    small clinic, and vastly expanded her knowledge of veterinary medicine. Growing up around
    Ste Anne, she is happy to be able to help the animals in her community and build a strong
    relationship with every client that walks through the door.
    In her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking for the people closest to her, or spending her
    time cuddled on the couch either knitting or reading beside her 3 handsome cats

    Twiggy & Hazel

    Twiggy and Hazel are the beloved fur family members of Dr. Jen, each with their own special personality that makes them an integral part of the family.

    Twiggy, born in April 2013, is the more relaxed and loving of the two. She enjoys lounging around, especially soaking up the sun, and is always ready for a good pet. As the “older sister,” Twiggy has been a patient companion to Dr. Jen throughout her veterinary journey, helping her learn anatomy and more during vet school. She’s calm, affectionate, and content with cozying up for a snuggle, making her the perfect companion for a quiet day at home.

    Hazel, born in July 2020, is full of energy and excitement. While she’s a big snuggle bug in the morning and at night, she’s always ready to run, chase squirrels, birds, and leaves around the yard. Although Hazel isn’t great at fetch, she absolutely loves her balls and will happily carry one around, eager to play whenever she gets the chance. Her playful and spirited nature keeps the household lively and full of energy.

    As pets of a veterinarian, both Twiggy and Hazel are accustomed to regular physical exams and have learned to love the attention they get from Dr. Jen. Despite shedding a ton, they’re more than worth it. Their loving and playful personalities complete Dr. Jen’s family, bringing joy to every day.
