Surgery & Anesthesia
Safe, Skilled Hands for Every Procedure
We understand that the idea of your pet undergoing anesthesia can feel a little overwhelming. We take every step to ensure that anesthesia is as safe and smooth as possible—because your pet’s well-being and your peace of mind are our top priorities.
-
Before any procedure, we perform a thorough physical exam. We also highly recommend pre-surgical bloodwork to check for hidden health concerns that may not be evident on the outside. This screening helps us evaluate:
- Kidney and liver disease (important for metabolizing anesthesia)
- Blood sugar and electrolytes
- Red and white blood cell counts (to assess for infection, anemia, or clotting issues)
-
While your pet is under anesthesia, they are closely monitored at all times by trained staff. We use advanced monitoring equipment to track:
- Heart rate and rhythm
- Blood pressure
- Breathing and oxygen levels
- Body temperature
-
Once the procedure is complete, your pet is moved into recovery where we continue to monitor them as they wake up. Most pets recover quickly and are up and about within a few hours.
You’ll receive detailed discharge instructions and pain management tailored to your pet’s comfort at home.
